It’s 10:52pm on a Sunday evening and I have just returned home from a weekend in Memphis, or more specifically, at Memphis. That’s right, I was at the show all weekend which was a fantastical treat.
What made this weekend so fantastical? Could it have been the boistrous weekend crowds? Perhaps. Could it have been that Lamont Dozier was at the show last night?
As in the Lamont Dozier who wrote:
Baby Love
Bernadette
How Sweet it is to be Loved by You
Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch
I Hear a Symphony
Nowhere to Run
Reflections
Stop in the Name of Love
That was definitely a high light. As was the fact that NY Jet Mark Sanchez was back at the show tonight. That’s right, after beating the Cincinnati Bengals last night, Mark decided to celebrate, not by going to Disneyland, but by coming back to Memphis.
I think this means I should probably become a Jets fan now…
I am most certainly a fan our James Monroe Iglehart. When he is not playing “Bobby,” James is part of Freestyle Love Supreme and their show tonight was brilliant and high-larious.
I had never been to Ars Nova on 54th street and it was the perfect venue for tonight’s show.

James, or J-Soul as he is deservedly called at Freestyle Shows, rocked the crowd along with Lin Manuel and Shockwave.
In case you haven’t seen James, Shockwave and Lin do their thing…

I don’t think i will ever get tired of watching that video. Please keep linking it so that it gives me an excuse to keep watching it :)

Carolyn, Memphis cast members were AMAZING at tonight’s Dance From the Heart Benefit for Dancers Responding to AIDS. In case you weren’t at the show, Ephraim Sykes did an dazzling/intense Solo and returned for the closing number which also featured Charlie Williams who was killing the choreography! Can you find pictures/ video??? I know you have major connections and all! But seriously, it is wonderful that on their one night off your show’s gifted performers would share their talent for such a worthy cause. That is so cool that Mark Sanchez loves Memphis as much as we do! I think The NYJets have earned and deserve a Big Hockadoo!!!
