Cast

Dancing in the streets

I just got a text from the Marquee Merchadise Wizard, Stephen, (who has saved m’life on more than one occassion) that said that the theatre was dangerously close to selling out of their allotment of Cast Recording CDs. A few texts later and Randy, producer, had saved the day- rushing several hundred more CDs over there before tonight’s performance. How he did that without the use of the red wagon, I may never know…

Mental Note: fix the red wagon in 2010.

Stephen’s text did remind me of the HUGE new addition to the Shubert Theatre this week- SPEAKERS!!

Just like Huey Calhoun, putting speakers outside for all to enjoy the music….

Yes, my friends, I haven’t been this excited about set of speakers since my boyfriend gave me a pair of Bose computer speakers 5 years ago. And while I was sort of faking excitement about those computer speakers, I most definitely was pumped to hear the cast album being played under the marquee on 44th street.

I yelped. I danced. I tried to give my opinion about the sound levels. I even took pictures.

This one is not so artistic:

This one is waaaay more artistic, with the reflection of the passersby and all:
Speakers

And this one is just a mess up, but since I have artistic license here…:

Fun Fact: at the moment, the outdoor speakers are playing all the tracks from the CD. How do you choose one child over the other?

If you are on 44th street and hear the music, let me know if you think the volume is too loud, too soft or juuuuussssstttt right.

Memphis Blog Shout Out: to Austria! My favorite Austrian ladies should be rockin’ in the house tonight!

  3. I saw the show from the front row thanks to student rush tickets. It. Was. Amazing!!! I don’t think there is a better way to spend a ridiculously freezing and rainy afternoon than to bask in the amazing amount of energy and talent in this show. Thanks so much for offering such fantastic seats to students, I will definitely be back soon!!
